Sentinel Boats is named after the Sentinel, the angled mountain that guards the western side of Hout Bay. Sentinel Boats is suppliers of Traditional Daysailers, rowing skiffs, yachts, marine equipment and offering a chandling service to the Hout Bay Marina. Situated in the fishing village of Hout Bay, 25 kilometers from Cape Town in South Africa, Sentinel Boats is a small firm producing day sailers based on classic designs.

The Model Shipyard
For anyone interested in ships, model shipbuilding is a great pleasure, but it calls for patience and huge skills to produce a miniature ship so accurately as to look exactly like the original vessel. Of course there are plenty of fakes out there; people who have haphazardly put together a ship with little regard to accuracy. The enchantment in model shipbuilding is in the passion and ever-increasing desire to produce accurate replicas.
